Went to Piada with a friend and really enjoyed it! The descriptions of Italian meets Chipotle are accurate. You select what you want, then add toppings/fillings of choice as you move along. I actually found it somewhat difficult to convey that I wanted to try my ordered item as described on the menu because I'd never had anything there before. Anyway, my friend and I both ordered different types of piadas and split there. It was more than enough food to satisfy and tasted super fresh. I would definitely go back and try other things on the menu.
One note: Before going I read reviews trying to figure out the difference in sizes between small and regular pastas. Photos didn't really help. So from what I saw while I was there, the regular size is the equivalent of a standard cereal bowl (you know the kind that can hold 3 c of dry cereal). Keep that in mind if you order a regular - it's huge! -

We tried Piada back when they first opened and weren't super impressed with the food. We just recently had a friend ask for food from Piada and we tried it again since we were already there.
I usually get the Carbonara pasta and I am happy to say that it's a reasonably tasty meal and a reasonably sized portion. My experience was a bit mixed, however. I was ordering food for The Wife and me. I ordered hers and they started to make it and then ignored me. I still needed to order mine. When they looked at me, minutes later, they said, "Do you need something?" and I said, "Yes, I need a Carbonara pasta to go.
"Oh, you need another meal?"
"Yes."
Of course, they had already started helping the customer behind me so now The Wife's food is being put together, then the next customer, then mine. It's kind of a mess. I get her order finished as I tell the guy prepping it, then the other customer then I look at mine. It's not what I ordered.
"If that's mine, shouldn't the Carbonara have alfredo sauce?"
"That's what you asked for," he pauses, then he turns around and puts it on the back table and starts to make a new one.
So then I need to start making it again, this time with someone else. I instruct again, "Italian sausage. It's a Carbonara." "A Carbonara.... with sausage." It's more than I think I should need to inform, but I'm hungry and am not in the mood to make a fuss.
During this time, another employee helping the woman behind me with her food, is cutting up an avocado. One of the quarters falls out of his hand, hits him in the apron and proceeds to try to fall to the floor. The employee manages to push his body against the counter and catch it. He then reaches his hand down there, grabs it, and to my surprise, throws it back in with the other avocado slices. I look at the woman behind me and shake my head and smile with disbelief as she looks at me with wide eyes. The employee sees our expressions and fishes it out and throws it away.
At this point, my wife's food has been done and waiting to be paid for. I ask for parmesan to be grated on both of ours. The employee puts it on my wife's and then immediately walks away. I then tell the employee at the register that I'd like it on mine too, which she asks the employee to do mine as well. He didn't hear it either time, apparently, so a different employee grates it and we're finally done.
I pay for it and I'm finally out. It's probably 20 minutes from start to finish. It was agonizingly slow, however the food was good and we have put it in our lineup of places to suggest to eat.
Would recommend if you're not in a rush. -

This isn't Italian street food. This is mediocre version of Chipotle with worst pasta I have ever had.
Drove by several times so decided to swing by. Staff is not so friendly. Tables are left with trash. Countertop where they make food is dirty. Pasta is so hard that I think I chipped my tooth when I was biting into it.
Only reason why they get two stars is because their grilled salmon is decent and their pesto sauce.
Don't think I am ever coming back here. -

After checking out some spots in Downtown Plano, my dude and I had a nice casual dinner here. Piada is the Chipotle-style fast casual concept for Italian food. Their main bases are salad, pasta, or toasted wraps, and all could be customized to your liking or you can choose one of their creations from the menu. My dude and I decided to try one of each, having a small chopped salad, small chicken diavolo pasta, and a piada wrap. We also got a pepperoni piada stick, which is like a long toasty cheese stick. While they were preparing our items, I was impressed with all the ingredients they use. Next time I would definitely try making my own creation.
The salad and piada wrap was made very quickly, while the pasta took a little more time. The food was pretty delicious, and proved to be a little too much for the two of us, and we eat A LOT! The salad was refreshing, the pasta was perfect, and the piada wrap was delicious and filled with so much good stuff. We were so full! Also, the prices were cheap; this is definitely a great spot for lunch or for a casual dinner. I'd definitely come here again. Enjoy! -

Got the Caesar salad with salmon and probably would not get it again. They didn't even remember to put my salmon in. Had to go back and remind them. This place is expensive, and the quality and quantity just isn't worth it in my opinion.
I don't remember what the other dish was, but wasn't good. The spaghetti seemed like it wasn't even cooked properly.
